How long should I spend in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon?

The full tour of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon usually takes about 2–4 hours.

Bringing children to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon during holidays is indeed a good choice. Compared with Tianmen Cave and Baofeng Lake, this place is much easier to explore, with fewer stairs to climb. There are also elevators and slides, which makes it very convenient. For ticket information, check Zhangjiajie tickets in advance.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Tour Routes

Route A

If you choose Route A, the whole trip takes about 2.5–3.5 hours, passing through the following spots in order:
Visitor Center → Yixiantian Slide → Rainbow Square → Rainbow Lake Boat Ride → Shengu Tanxi → A Curtain of Dreams → Momo Cave → Shenquan Lake Boat Ride → Scenic Exit (which leads directly to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain).

This route is quite relaxing, but the drawback is that there are almost no activity experiences—it’s purely sightseeing.

Route B

If you choose Route B, the whole trip takes about 3.5 hours, passing through the following spots in order:
Visitor Center → glass bridge → Bungee Jump → East Bridge Experience Center → Rock Climbing → Glass Walkway → (Aixiangfei VR, High-altitude Zipline, Yixiantian Slide) or (Aixiangfei VR, Sightseeing Elevator → Treasure Hunt Elevator → Sculpture Elevator or Wuwangpo Slide) → Rainbow Square → Rainbow Lake (Rainbow Lake Boat Ride) → Shengu Tanxi → A Curtain of Dreams → Momo Cave → Shenquan Lake Boat Ride → Scenic Exit (which also leads to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain).

Route B offers more activities to experience.

Alternative Route for B

Since Route B has many activities, if you want to pass through quickly, you can follow this path:
Visitor Center → Yixiantian (Yixiantian Slide) → Rainbow Square (Rainbow Lake Boat Ride, round trip) → Sculpture Elevator → Treasure Hunt Elevator → Sightseeing Elevator → Aixiangfei VR → Glass Walkway → East Bridge Experience Center → Rock Climbing → Bungee Jump → Glass Bridge → Scenic Exit.

When traveling, if you hire a tour guide, the guide will accompany you throughout the trip, helping with tickets, queuing, shoe covers, cable cars, and so on, so you won’t need to handle these yourself. If you go without a guide, the queuing can be quite tiring.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon FAQs

Route A does not pass through the glass bridge. If you want to experience the glass bridge, choose Route B.

Some sections inside the canyon have water dripping down, so it is recommended to bring disposable rain gear.

When visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, pay attention to the opening hours.
