Tusi Palace (Ruins)

Tusi Palace (Ruins) served as the summer retreat of the Tusi Dynasty in Western Hunan. Located within the Furong Town Scenic Area in Yongshun County, Western Hunan, it is known as the Tusi King’s Summer Palace.

Perched on a cliff overlooking mountains and water, it sits beside the spectacular Furong Town Waterfall. This site served as the Tusi King’s summer retreat and administrative center during the Tusi era, embodying the power structure of that period. Its distinctive architectural style, featuring upturned eaves and corners, epitomizes Tujia architecture and showcases the historical and cultural heritage of China’s Tujia people.

The interior recreates the Tusi King’s daily life, serving as a vital window into the Tusi system and Tujia history and culture. Now open as a tourist attraction, admission is approximately ¥108, with a recommended visit duration of 1-3 hours.

Additionally, the Tujia Folk Park in Zhangjiajie features the Tusi Palace (Ruins) site and Tusi Palace (Ruins) Museum, which can be visited together.

Opening Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Admission: Entry to the Tusi Palace is included in the Furong Town combined ticket. If purchasing separately, the admission fee is 30 RMB.
