Fuqi Yan/Husband and Wife Peaks in Zhangjiajie
Fuqi Yan Scenic Area is located on Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, at an altitude of 1180 meters. These two peaks, approximately 98 meters and 86 meters high, are closely intertwined, creating a rare “Husband and Wife Peaks” wonder in the world. The rock mass on the left presents a masculine and resolute silhouette, while the one on the right shows a gentle curve. The natural distance between these two peaks is only 1.2 meters, as if they are embracing lovers.

According to geological surveying data, there are traces of ancient river erosion on the top of these two quartz sandstone peaks that were 360 million years ago, which proves that they once belonged to the same mountain. These two peaks have been cut by millions of years of rainwater and still maintain mechanical equilibrium today. On the southwest side (GPS: 29.25 ° N, 110.51 ° E), a heart-shaped spot composed of bimodal projections can be seen at sunrise.
